- Blake is an assured comic, gifted writer, and responsive and spontaneous performer - the audience warm to him immediately. His unique spin on things effortlessly elevates this show into the four star category. He possesses a gift for taking the pedestrian, casually stepping sideways creatively, then illuminating the surreal and the fanciful. It works an absolute treat. EDINBURGH GUIDE 2005
- Funny and relaxed, Marc Blake delivers again and again. I saw his show three times - since it's free - and it's a testament to the strength of his material and his fantastic delivery that I laughed louder every time. His impressive comic wit and intuitive ability to draw an audience in mean that during every performance, gags are slightly tweaked or pursued after an established punchline, usually to devastating comic effect - making him one of the few comics on the fringe this year worthy of repeat viewings. I urge anyone reading to go and see him. Like many of the acts on the fringe this year, this is an overlooked comic with dazzling technical ability, a richly satisfying set, and a genuinely likeable onstage persona. If any more proof were needed that this is one to watch, let me just say that despite the lack of fliers every show I've attended has been standing room only. Get there early, because this comic deserves every bit of word-of-mouth advertising he's going to get. *****EDINBURGH FRINGE 2005
